OPERATIONS MANAGER: INSURANCE BROKING:

Max Salary: R45000
Decription: My client situated in Midrand, Gauteng are in need of a Operations Manager within the Insurance Broking. Purpose of this person is
To manage broking team and implement strategy as agreed with executive and board to ensure portfolio a revenue growth and
retention of clients through active participation in sales and lead generation as well as providing service and advice in compliance
with FAIS and TCF rules.
This person have to provide general leadership across the organization in support to facilitate attainment of business goals in all areas of business and as directed by the Managing Director and Executive Board.

General Requirements: Required Experience and Qualifications:
1. 10 years personal and commercial Insurance sales and services
2. Risk Management

4. NQF Level 6 Insurance and/or Risk Management Qualifications

Key Performance Areas:
General Management and Administration:
• Perform overall and general management of the operational side of the business as
well as interact with shared and support services.
• Manage the entire Broking value chain and minimize or eliminate disfunction among
various operational divisions to achieve goals
• Maintain client records in client files ensuring compliance with FAIS regulations.
• Maintain various trackers and registers for the different functional areas and keep
them updated in a structure that supports follow-up and actions. Lead Register, New
Business Register by Renewal Month, Monthly Reports, Budgets and Budget
Trackers etc.
Procure New Business and attain Growth targets:
Perform Managerial as well as hands on roles in business development and
commission/revenue growth,
• Manage Business development function in pursuit of topline targets.
• Implement lead generation strategy and drive lead generation initiatives
• Warm Leads up and obtain client authority to quote through signed letter of Authority.
• Convert Leads into quotes maintaining target led to quote conversion rate per week,
month and per staff member.
• Provide Short Term Insurance advice to clients in compliance with both FAIS act as
well as Treating Customers Fairly.
• Request Quotations from at least three insurers basing on the client’s needs, existing
cover and client’s request
• Assure accuracy of Insurer quote and summarize for Client presentation.
• Package product for client where necessary and render financial advice completing
the record of advice.
• Negotiate and agree package with client and ensure conversion of quote to new
policy.
• Negotiate with Insurers
• Maintain and update Lead Register and drive actions and follow-up
• Maintain and update New Business Register and ensure quality Assurance of new
business (Signed Records of Advice, signed mandates, proof of product
comparisons, Signed Debit order Authority and Claims Declaration)
Provide support on Client-Side Risk Management and support Insurer Underwriting
risk management actions:
• Provide risk management advisory services to client particularly Risk and Loss
avoidance as well as Loss Minimization.
• Manage Profitability of portfolio placed with insurers to protect Broking agency.
• Ensure client understands policy requirements regarding risk management to assure
compliance in reality and perception.
• Negotiate alternative positions for clients where they cannot meet insurer
requirements in the short Term.
• Record Risk Management advice rendered to client
• Communicate Survey Risk recommendations to client following own or insurer
survey.
• Follow up and encourage insurer to comply with Risk Improvement
recommendations.
• Highlight to client the need to comply with specific industry regulations, bylaws and
national laws.
Manage Client Service and Retention:
Perform Managerial as well as hands on roles in client service, retention and risk advisory.
• Request and receive New Policy Documents from insurers
• Dispatch new policy Documents to clients attaching welcome letter addressing
coverage issues and policy conditions, warranties and endorsements.
• Administer client policies and maintain records
• Attend to client queries and request changes with insurers as requested by clients.
• Communicate, advise on and record policy and risk changes between both Client
and insurer.
• Protect Client interests and provide optimal package at all times
• Implement measures and strategies to ensure retention and growth of client
portfolios and book.
Credit Control:
Perform Managerial as well as hands on roles in credit control and collections
• Follow-up on and ensure payments are made to insurers
• Ensure collection for unpaid policies from clients
• Manage non payments
• Track and report on Commissions from Insurers
Claims Processing and Management:
Perform Managerial and hands on role in Claims service delivery that meet clients’ needs
and aligns with company policy, FSCA, TCF and consumer protections rules.
• Support clients in claims registry and obtain confirmation from insurers
• Follow up and manage claim process
• Keep client updated and follow-up consistently with insurers
• Initiate and follow-through any third-Party Recoveries.
• Record Claim Transactions in Client files.
• Maintain Claims Register and tracker showing status of all claims reported, linked to
clients.
Risk and Compliance Management:
• Implement and oversee company risk management strategy aligning appetite and
attitude in running the business of the company.
• Ensure compliance with FSCA regulations including TCF and Policy Holder
protection
• Engage with and manage interactions with the Compliance Officer and produce risk
and compliance reports for board and FSCA
• Maintain necessary records and registers including representative registers, Key
individual registers, complaints register.
• Manage POPI and Privacy Compliance
• Manage the Cyber risk response strategy of the business.
